Frequently Asked Questions
Here are the
answers to the most Frequently Asked Questions
How is it possible?
| We
provide promotion for the hotels in our scheme as part of their deal. It is unusual
for hotels to be fully occupied all the time so rather than have empty rooms the
hotels have an agreement with Great Escapes to give free accommodation in a twin
or double bedroom to our members and a partner in return for the purchase of dinner
and breakfast for each person on each nights stay. |
|
No you
need to contact the hotel direct and tell them your booking under the Great Escapes
Offer and ask if the dates you require are available. |
|
Hotels
usually accept member bookings for single people but most will charge a supplement
and you should contact them direct for exact details. |
|
No only
you can use it but you may be able to book friends in with you if they stay at
the same time. You must be present to show your proof of membership and prove
your identity if required. Misuse may result in your membership being cancelled. |
Do I have to
take meals at the hotel?
| Entitlement
to free accommodation is conditional on paying for your meals on each nights
stay. If you stay for several nights it may still be cheaper to pay for your meals
but skip the odd meal at the hotel. Generally, though, the food is so good you
wont want to miss it. |
| Most
of the hotels allow you to stay for just two nights but not always for a single
night so please check this with the hotel direct. |
|
Many hotels
take pets and this is usually noted in their details. Guests wishing to take pets
should confirm their requirements with the hotel at the time of booking. |
|
Some hotels
have facilities for the disabled and this is often quoted in the details. To be
sure whats available ask the hotel direct. |
Are
there any forward booking requirements?
| Some
hotels stipulate a maximum advance booking period in their details. Others will
accept bookings any time subject to availability. |
|
A full
description, location, colour picture, details of facilities, industry
ratings and contact details are given for each hotel in our scheme
to every member. Ongoing updates are always available to registered
members on this web site in the Members Section. Go

|
Most hotels
do not accept Great Escapes bookings over Christmas, New Year or Bank Holidays.
Other times of the year booking are generally accepted at any time subject to
any specific exclusions for particular hotels which will be noted in their details.

Use of your membership?
|
Membership
is for use by two adults sharing a twin or double room. One of the two adults
must be the person who is the signatory on the proof of membership. |
|
The membership
is for use by two adults, however many hotels have family rooms or can organise
cots or extra beds. The hotel details often quote the costs for children but it
is essential to establish with the hotel what they can provide and what the charges
will be. |
